- 29/06/2010 · If it doesn't stop bleeding, and you are sure it is a TAIL feather, and NOT a wing feather, you can give it a quick yank, and it should come out. If it is a WING feather, you would have to use needle-nosed pliers to yank it out, and you would probably want to consult with a vet before doing that.
