In the News: Popeye’s Simple Chicken Sandwich?

By Jesse | August 5, 2010

Keeping up with my chicken sandwich theme for the week, yesterday I received a coupon mailing from Popeye’s featuring an ad for new “Simple Chicken” Sandwich.

I wasn’t able to find anything online about this sandwich. It’s obviously a copy of Chick-fil-A’s chicken sandwich formula. White bun, friend chicken breast and pickles. I’m wondering if this is a Chicago area test. Has anyone else heard about this?

I saw the picture and thought of Chick-fil-A… Funny that it is that obvious!

I know. Just like McDonald’s, they are obviously trying to capitalize on Chick-fil-A’s success.

I live in Texas and I’ve seen them advertised here. I might try one for lunch. If my memory is correct I believe the meal is under 5 bucks.

Ive had this a few times and it is really good. Cheaper than Chick-fil-a and comes with the cajun fries. I like it better!

Had one today. Took a small bite to try it. Everything seemed fine. Then I took a regular bite only to find that the chicken was raw. Not pleasant.

I live right up the street from a Popeye’s. I think I might see if they are serving these and try one. If not, I”m headed for Chick-fil-A.
