From the Editor’s Desk: SIHPIA (Sorry I Haven’t Posted in Awhile) and Leaving for Cali

Today I’m starting a new category “From the Editor’s Desk” and a sub category I’m calling SIHPIA (Sorry I haven’t posted in awhile), because lets face it, every hobby blog needs one of these. So…

Hey readers, sorry I haven’t posted in awhile (SIHPIA), but I’ve been really busy with work and getting ready for my trip out to California. I’ll be there all next week for some family time, friend time, football, a wedding, and of course some fast food. Look forward to good stuff coming out of this trip, especially a slow food review of the wedding food (Sorry Peter).

In the meantime, I’ve gotten some exciting news at my office. New vending machines. These things are bad ass.

They switched to Coke product from Pepsi, and added a huge drink machine with just about everything you can imagine. Big improvement in both snack machines as well. They’ve got much better items including Clif Bars, one of my favorites.

Best yet, they installed a coffee machine that makes Starbuck’s Espresso drinks including lattes and cappuccinos. It even has chai lattes, and the best part is, it’s FREE.

Pretty exciting stuff, and just in time for the cold Chicago winter. I won’t have to leave my office when a snack craving comes a calling.
